Why we carry this

This book gathers fifty recipe cards from chefs who know their way around a noodle pot. Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Malaysian, Vietnamese - the cuisines keep coming, each one a small argument for why noodles deserve their own religion. You'll find the obvious ones here: ramen, pad see ew, japchae, gong zai men. The kind of dishes we've ordered a hundred times and thought, "I could probably make this myself," then never did. This deck changes that. The cards are photographic, which means you're not squinting at someone's interpretation of what the food should look like. You're looking at what it actually looks like.

There are basics included too, the foundational stuff that makes everything else possible. Some nights you want fast. Some nights you want to spend the afternoon in the kitchen, the kind of cooking that feels less like a chore and more like thinking with your hands. We've made room for both. Whether you're the type to have dinner on the table in twenty minutes or the type who considers a leisurely cooking day a form of meditation, there's something here for you. All of us, really, are just noodle lovers in different disguises.

Steak House

We follow Eric Wareheim on a road trip across the country, exploring what these local institutions mean in an age of cookie-cutter restaurants. Join us at New York classics like Peter Luger's, local stalwarts like North Carolina's Beef 'N Bottle, and over-the-top iterations like Bern's in Florida. From these journeys Eric has collected 45 of the best, most decadent recipes, which are accompanied by glorious images of the food, the restaurants, and most importantly the people behind them. We discover why the martini is THE drink to order and why Mexico should be a stop on your next steak house road trip. We hear about Jerome Williams, the bartender and server at Beef 'N Bottle who made Eric start this steak house journey in the first place. When we're ready to make the steak house standards at home, we'll have options like the Prime Rib, Parker House Rolls, and Thick and Thin Onion Rings or go for newer additions like Pollo Asado and The Crown of Pork.

They're practical enough for everyday use, thoughtful enough to give as a gift, and decorative enough that you won't feel compelled to hide them in a drawer. Special Edition Moon Knife Set

Imagine, if you will, a pair of knives that have traveled further than most people's vacation photos. Hand-forged by blacksmiths in a remote Thai village - people who've been perfecting their craft since before we invented the internet - these blades arrived at your kitchen with centuries of culinary tradition tucked into their handles. The cleaver, all eleven inches of it, is a heavy-duty marvel of carbon steel that arrives sharp enough to make you question your previous knife choices. The French-style blade, slightly more refined at ten and three-quarters inches, handles everything from delicate herb work to ambitious meat preparation with the kind of confidence you wish you had at dinner parties. Both knives feature full tang construction, meaning they're essentially indestructible in the hands of someone who respects them (hand wash only - they're temperamental that way, like most things worth having). This special edition won't linger long, which is either thrilling or anxiety-inducing, depending on your relationship with limited-time offers.
