Izumimomen Tenugui - Sardine
Tenugui are traditional Japanese cotton hand towels with a history of quiet usefulness. You dry your hands with them. You wrap gifts. You hang them on a wall and suddenly your room feels like it belongs to someone more interesting than you. Izumimomen, a weaving tradition from the Izumi region, has been making these things for generations - soft, absorbent, durable in the way that matters. This one has a sardine on it. Not ironically. Just a straightforward sardine, because sardines are part of the story along the Japanese coast, and someone decided that was worth printing.
