I bought this necklace thinking it would make me interesting, the way people in Sedona seem to be interesting simply by existing there. The silver catches light in a way that suggests intention—as if someone sat down and thought, "What if we made something that looked like it had been waved at by someone who actually knew what they were doing?" The green grossular garnet is the color of a plant you'd see in the desert and immediately want to kill through neglect. The sapphire is there too, large enough that you notice it, small enough that you can pretend you didn't spend money on it. The artist is from Sedona, which means they probably have better skin than I do and definitely own more crystals. It's the kind of piece that makes you feel like you're one thoughtful accessory away from being the sort of person who meditates at sunrise instead of checking email in bed. Whether that's true or not is between you and your therapist.
