Why we carry this
We found ourselves holding a pack of something called ZiGS - which, we should mention upfront, we didn't make ourselves. We're just selling them, which feels important to clarify, the way one might clarify that they didn't bake the bread at a bakery, only that they happened to be there when it arrived.
Each pack contains seventeen of these hand-rolled things from Ojai, California, along with a book of matches, which suggests someone thought ahead. The Palo Santo is organic, infused with Vetiver and Cardamom - scents that conjure the kind of intentions people have before their lives get too busy to maintain them. The filters are cotton, one hundred percent, which we're told matters. We believe it.
We're selling them because they're there and people seem to want them, which is as good a reason as any in this economy.
