I once owned a cutting board that cost less than a coffee and performed about as well. It warped, stained, and developed an odor suggesting it had become sentient and deeply depressed. Hand-finished with food-safe oil and wax, it's built for actual use - not display, though it's handsome enough for that too. It's the kind of board you'll reach for repeatedly, share with people you tolerate, and eventually pass along to someone who will definitely appreciate it more than you do.
